"Do you want to meet the love of your life? Look in the mirror."
~ Byron Katie
How often do you say kind, loving, supportive things to yourself? Do you judge yourself harshly when you look in the mirror or do you see the light of your amazing spirit? Divine perfection in form. You were born of the breath of God so how can you be anything less than perfect?
Of course we have struggles so be gentle with yourself. Oh so gentle. Like a mother holding her baby, hold and rock your inner child ~ speak to him kindly, love him, cherish him, protect him. Be the primary caretaker in the garden of your own spirit.
You are the love of your life and the more you take care of that love you will naturally draw more and more of the same to you. Like a moth to the flame.
So get out a mirror and look into your eyes, beyond the wrinkles and the tears and the eyeliner. Look deep into your eyes where the light wants to come out and tell yourself, "I really really love you".
If you have children teach them from an early age to cherish and love themselves, not in some superficial manner but to love their spirit, love their uniqueness, love their creativity and their own unique gifts whatever those may be because they came here to share those gifts with the world. When you teach children to see the light within themselves you are also teaching them how to see the light in others.
